Hereby we, JP Autoceste want to express our sincere condolences following the unfortunate event that occurred on Monday, November 8^th 2021, on subsection Poprikuše – Nemila on Corridor Vc, as two construction workers from Turkish company Cengiz Insaat had an accident and unfortunately lost their lives.

Immediately after the accident, the comprehensive search was initiated after two workers fell into the river Bosna. The following teams were included in the search of river Bosna: Emergency Rescue Unit from Zenica, Special Police Unit from Ministry of Internal Affairs Zenica – Doboj Canton, Mountain Rescue Service Units from Žepče and Zavidovići and workers from Cengiz Insaat. The search was more demanding due to extremely fast and cold river. On Thursday November 11^th, in the area of Golubinja settlement, a dead body was found. After the identification, it has been confirmed that dead body belongs to one of the missing construction workers who was a Turkish citizen. In following period, the search for another worker was intensified, Special Unit from Turkish AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) has arrived at the scene by an invitation from Cengiz Insaat. On Saturday, November 27^th, the members of Special Unit from AFAD found a dead male body in river Bosna near Golubinja (Žepče Municipality). After conducting the identification measures, it was confirmed that body belongs to the other worker.

The official investigation is currently ongoing and JP Autoceste is providing the necessary assistance to authorities in order to investigate all circumstances that led to this tragic accident.

In the period after the accident until to this date, representatives from JP Autoceste organized a meeting with the Consultants from all active construction sites (Technical Assistance for Project Implementation and Supervision Engineers) on the topic: Improvement of safety at work during construction on Corridor Vc. Conclusions for further actions were defined during the meeting. In the following days, the meeting regarding the same topic will organized with representatives of Contractors engaged on Corridor Vc.
