The Buna – Počitelj subsection is 7.2 km long and is a part of the section of the motorway on Corridor Vc Mostar South – Počitelj.
The subsection is located on geologically extremely favourable, relatively flat terrain.
It starts about 4 km south of the village of Hodbina. The motorway route is laid in such a way not intersecting densely populated areas, but passing over the Neretva canyon near several populated areas and ending just outside the Počitelj interchange. The route includes two overpasses, one underpass and two passages for animals, as well as the construction of Rotinski potok two-sided rest area.
Proper environmental management will focus on collection and treatment of sanitary wastewater, pre-treatment of rainwater from parking lots, maintenance of oil separators, and municipal waste management.
The route does not pass through any protected nature area or cultural and historical heritage, while the humid habitat of Hutovo Blato (Ramsar area and IBA area) is about 8 km south. After removing the surface layer over the entire section of the route, the contractor began with the excavation at multiple positions mainly in high cuts and the performance of embankments.
